recipes quiche asparagus

What is the best way to cook asparagus quiche with asparagus for?
I found two recipes both very similar, except for two things. A recipe says to blanch the asparagus and chop some for the quiche and organize all of several on top, the other said to cook the asparagus in butter and some wheels arranged in a pin on top (still together). Has someone tried both methods of cooking (In butter and blanched) if so, what was your favorite and why? I do this for dinner tonight because I left a ton of asparagus in the refrigerator. Thank you for your answers! The members of the family who would love to eat asparagus quiche. Only one family member does not and he throws almost at the mention of the word asparagus ~ guess it's a good thing he does not live with us! : O) Yeah, I'm not big on vegetables, butter ………. I usually do a bit of extra virgin olive oil or olive oil that I have that has a hint of garlic in it.
I would cut it into small pieces and steam in my steamer. Then it will be nice and soft and work well in a quiche. I do it for a casserole with cheese and rice is great.

Recipes $22.01 2006 IACP Award Winner: General Category! Preface by Martha Stewart. Recipes. Cooking all comes down to the recipes — those ingredient-by-ingredient, technique-by-technique, step-by-step instructions. In Recipes, Susan Spungen, founding food editor and editorial director for food at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia for twelve years, presents her own easy, unfettered ideas for cooking simple food rich with freshness and flavors to share with family and friends. Recipes is organized by technique, explaining why sautéing is great for two or four but when feeding a crowd braising is the better choice. Prepare focuses on the basics, from making a vinaigrette to roasting garlic and peppers. Chop includes not just salads, but gazpacho and a Provençal sandwich that requires knife skills. Sauté explains how to pan-sear fish and make a layered omelet. Grill shows proper techniques for cooking scallops, asparagus, and steak over an open fire. Roast offers the perfect roast chicken and a roasted squash salad. Bake features a variety of pizzas as well as mushrooms baked in parchment paper. Simmer and Braise coaxes the most flavors from soups and lamb shanks. Finally, there’s Indulge, a selection of desserts from simple brownies and peach melba to a fruit crisp and a rich chocolate cake. Susan believes that one of the most pleasurable parts of a meal should be the making of it. Recipes encourages home cooks to become confident cooks. |

Sausage: $15.63 Think Beyond the Link. You don’t have to be an expert cook or have a fancy kitchen to make sausage at home. If you simply think beyond the link, you’ll find a whole world of sausage possibilities. Patties, meatballs, fish balls, veg balls, meat loaf—these are all sausages without casings that are every bit as savory and satisfying as their linked cousins. And, since they do not require special equipment, they are a snap to make at home. In Sausage, Victoria Wise shares more than 75 recipes for easy-to-make, no-casing-required pork, beef, lamb, poultry, seafood, and even vegetarian sausages, including innovative recipes that turn them into sophisticated meals. An inviting and wonderfully diverse collection from all around the globe, this compendium features European classics, American mainstays, Asian favorites, Middle Eastern inspirations, and sausages African in origin. You will find dishes for every meal and occasion, such as Rustic Cornmeal Pancakes Dappled with American Breakfast Sausage and Slicked with Maple Syrup; Lunch Pie, aka Quiche, with Toulouse Sausage and Spinach; Vietnamese-Style Beef Sausage and Vegetable Spring Rolls with Mint Dipping Sauce; and Merguez and Apple Tagine over Couscous with Harissa. For those who like their sausage in traditional links, Wise offers expert direction for stuffing sausage into casings. Beautifully written and photographed, Sausage is the only book of its kind. Its array of inventive sausages and sausage-centric dishes are inspiration for both the new and the well-seasoned cook. Making sausage at home has never been so easy—nor the results so delicious. Victoria Wise, once a doctoral student in philosophy, cooked the first meal at the famed Chez Panisse Restaurant in Berkeley, California, in 1971. In 1973, she opened Pig-by-the-Tail, a charcuterie that helped define Berkeley’s Gourmet Ghetto as the epicenter of culinary innovation and redefine the notion of “deli” in America. Twelve years later, she sold Pig-by-the-Tail to pursue her other passions—writing, gardening, and developing fresh home cooking recipes for her books—while she raised her son. She has written for the Los Angeles Times Syndicate, Williams-Sonoma Taste, and Food & Wine and has published thirteen books on cooking and gardening. Her first book, American Charcuterie: Recipes from Pig-by-the-Tail, was nominated for the James Beard Cookbook of the Year award in 1986. Victoria resides in Oakland, California. |

poached eggs recipes

What are your favorite snacks? Have you ever heard of putting the tomato soup in a pan and crack an egg?
in all this? A sort of tomato / poached egg? I read this recipe today and I am tempted to try it … but sometimes it does not seem just as he goes along. "Other ideas for something quick but good for summer meals or snacks?
My mother made the soup that had cilantro, garlic, some noodles, etc. When it was cooked, she would have broken an egg for each person in the pot, but instead separated so that it does not mix then lower the heat and cover the pan. When the egg was fully cooked in the soup and then serve. I do not remember how she made the soup. Bavaro was a soup!

Poached Egg $58.94 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles A poached egg is an egg that has been cooked by poaching, that is, in water. No oil or fat is used in its preparation. In modern parlance, the term poached egg is also applied to a different method of preparation using an egg poacher, where the egg is suspended in steam, rather than being poached in water. The egg is cracked into a small bowl, and then gently slid into a pan of simmering water and cooked until the egg white has mostly solidified, but the yolk remains soft. The perfect poached egg has a runny yolk, with a hardening crust and no raw white remaining. Fresh eggs will yield the best results. Broken into simmering water, the white will stay clinging around the yolk, and the egg results in cooked albumen and runny yolk. To prevent dispersion of the white of the egg, a small amount of vinegar may be added to the boiling water. Stirring the water vigorously to create a vortex may reduce dispersion. Special pans, with several small cups, allow a number of eggs to be poached at the same time. Other methods of producing poached eggs, such as using cling film to keep the egg perfectly formed have been documented. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Tennoe, Mariam T./ Henssonow, Susan F.
