Summer Dinner Recipes – 5 Budget Meal Planning Ideas for June

When the weather heats up, the last thing you want is to be spending hours in a hot kitchen! But with a little meal planning, you can produce an array of inspiring summer dinner recipes, as well as summer picnic recipes, summer dessert recipes and healthy breakfast recipes.

Make the most of simple chicken recipes

Instead of roasting one chicken, do two oven baked whole chickens at the same time – one lot of washing up, but a number of chicken leftover meals. This month, the chicken is roasted with a garlic, orange and rosemary rub. This can be oven roasted or cooked on the barbecue. There are three great recipes for leftovers: an updated version of Chicken a la King, with roasted red bell peppers and toasted almonds or a Chicken and Pasta Bake. Then there is a delectable Phyllo Triangles recipe filled with chicken and nuts. Still in barbecue mode, there is a great Chicken Kebabs Recipe.

Give Vegetable Salad Recipes a new spin

Get creative with salads and fresh seasonal produce. There are two spinach salad recipes: one a Spinach Salad with Feta, Beetroot and Toasted Almonds (with Basil Dressing) and the other is a Warm Spinach Salad with Slivered Lamb and Roasted Butternut. You need very little lamb steak for this recipe. Similarly, you need a small amount of steak for the refreshing Beef Stir Fry Recipe – the bulk of the recipe is made up with healthy vegetables, so it is light and nutritious.

Start the day with Healthy Breakfast Recipes

Start your day with a Raspberry Smoothie Recipe or a Corn Muffin Recipe (this is also great with a barbecue). For a more decadent breakfast, you could serve Lemon Poppy Seed Muffins.

Have some Summer Picnic Recipes up your sleeve

Again, Corn Muffins are ideal for a picnic. And what about Baked Scottish Eggs or Chicken Liver Pate? A Roast Vegetable Quiche or Meatball Sub Recipe? All are easily transported and make a change from the usual sandwiches.

Summer Dessert Recipes

People nowadays are very health conscious and would not appreciate if you serve them meals full of calories. While preparing these recipes, care must be taken to ensure that the meals are healthy to eat and will not be on the wrong side of nutrition.

Your grocery list should contain items of low calorific value. But it is not possible to prepare some easy dinner recipes which you can substitute it with something else. For example, cashew nut has more calories than peanuts but can you replace cashew nuts with peanuts? The entire taste of dinner recipes would change if you add peanuts in place of cashews. Therefore, it is to be noted that one has to be intelligent enough during the shopping of ingredients.

Use fresh herbs as much as you can. Make sure that you cook them while keeping the vessel closed. This helps the herbs to get infused and absorb the flavors. An intelligent and careful planning in your grocery list can earn you praises of nutrition and calorie conscious people. Preserve items in an air tight container to retain the freshness of ingredients. Last but definitely not the least, cook the food with your heart and soul. Don’t cook because you have to feed so many mouths.

Yeast Free Diet Recipes for Dinner

When we talk about a yeast free diet we don’t actually mean a diet without any yeast. The purpose of a yeast free diet is to stop eating foods that feed the natural yeast type fungus in our bodies. The yeast is known as candida with the most common being candida albicans. A yeast infection can occur anywhere on the body but a yeast free diet can help wherever it appears. The yeast will feed on sugar in the bloodstream if necessary. Usually a strict diet will also prevent the return of an infection.

The list of food not allowed on the diet is quite long but the foods that are allowed are considered healthy foods. Many food manufacturers are realizing that people are becoming more conscious about what they eat and are providing alternatives for a range of common ingredients. Without going into a full blown list of what you can and can’t eat, if it isn’t mentioned here then the chances are that it is a banned food.

A recommended meal on a yeast diet is an equal portion of meat or fish to vegetables with approximately 20% of carbohydrate, rice or potatoes. Meals should be taken 4 – 5 times daily. This will help the body sugars to balance out and reduce the initial cravings. When you start the diet the yeast will react and demand to be fed, this is where the cravings come in. It may be for sugar, bread or beer. It’s because of this that alcoholism has been linked to yeast infections.

All meats are safe to eat as is fish. Organic meat and fish is highly recommended. Farm bred meat and fish are fed with growth hormones and antibiotics which are then transferred to us. The meat can be roast, grilled, stir fried or minced for patties. Fish can be boiled, grilled, or fried. In fact the way you normally prepare the meat part of your meal doesn’t have to change that much.

Eggs are extremely versatile when it comes to cooking. An omelet is always an easy way out when you are stuck for ideas. You can add fish or chicken with any vegetables you choose. Serve with rice or potatoes on the side.

For vegetables you can eat virtually anything although leafy green vegetables are best. Again fresh organic vegetables are best because of pesticides used in cultivation. Vegetables can be steamed, stir fried or raw. Tomatoes contain a lot of natural sugar and should be avoided. Fresh vegetables can also be used as snack food if you feel really hungry.

Carbohydrates will come in the form of rice and potatoes. Pasta and noodles are not allowed although there are some rice varieties of these on the market now. Read the label to be sure because wheat products are not allowed.

Sauces and flavorings are a major addition to any meal and there are still plenty of ideas you can use. A salad dressing with lemon, olive oil and unfermented apple cider vinegar is great for salad. Fermented vinegar and products that use it are not allowed. Fresh vegetables can be spruced up with fresh herbs or chopped nuts (not peanuts). Meat juices can be thickened with cornflour or arrowroot and flavored with any fresh herbs. Garlic is considered especially good for yeast infections.

For a drink you are pretty much reduced to water, distilled or carbonated but preferably non chlorinated. All fruit juices, pop, and alcohol are not allowed. Tea and coffee are not allowed except for some herbal teas. Milk, while not banned, has been found to contain growth hormones, pesticides and antibiotics which are valid reasons not to use it.

Among the other considerations are time. Time to shop for, prepare and cook your meal. Also, who is going to eat the diet, are you on your own or are you involving family members. With planning and a little imagination, a yeast free diet shouldn’t cause too many problems.
