Learn English as a Foreign Language

As teaching professionals EFL learners and foreign language, we seek always means to acquire skills in English as soon as possible using the least focused effort. This does not mean that person is necessarily "lazy". This simply means that we want our efforts to learn foreign languages to be as casual and "painless" as possible. When you think learning a foreign language, often worth memorizing vocabulary lists and verb comes to mind. Also, it might evoke images of the drudgery of countless hours of rehearsal exercises language spoken and the hordes of embarrassing mistakes when they try to speak the foreign language with someone. However, none of these scenarios must be the case for effective learning English as a foreign language or another foreign language.

You do not eat, Do You?

Let us look at a topic of language such as food. You do not eat, do not you? Well, that probably will not change if you move or visit in a foreign country. So we'll start learning (or teaching) English as a foreign language with a visit to our local supermarket. If you and your students are in the USA, here is how such a vocabulary lesson food might work for you.

To begin, write your proposal Grocery list in the target language.

Go to the supermarket, then add it to your list of foods English or foreign language Shopping following ways:

 • What are three to five meats you love? write these cons signs
 • What two or three meats that you dislike? Write these down too.
 • Can you have dairy products? Write a few of these below. If there was not certain that you do not know – ask another buyer "What is it?" ( ¿Que es esto?)

Make Kumis you know this? How about Quajada?

• A Move to the fruit section – write three to five of those you
 • Ask another buyer for three to five fruits that you do not know. Do you like fruit? ( ¿Le gusta esta Ud Fruta?) Do you Chontaduro, Borojo or Pitaya?

 • Note five vegetables that you like
 • Write a couple of vegetables that you do not
 • Now you know the refrain, ask about a few vegetables that you do not know; vegetables to last the trip. Now, ask another buyer, "How do you cook this?" ( ¿Como puedo cocinar esto?)

For more extensive English as a Foreign Language lessons

If you want a broader lesson, you can skip to the section of bakery products, cereals and seafood If you're feeling puckish – And courageous. But for now, you want to engage local people in brief, non-threatening jokes about what happens around you. After all, they eat too much, you know. Better yet, unless some other supermarket sections for additional trips. This way you can go "shopping" all day to practice your English as foreign language skills in each passing day. Homemade Chicken Noodle soup made easy?

I love to cook all kinds of different things but one thing I have never attempted to make was homemade soup( I have 5 kids,…the kind in a can is SO convienent!!) I love chicken noodle and would like to find a SIMPLE kid friendly recipe. ALSO if you guys know of any other kid-approved simple soup recipes let me know!! Thanks!

Soup is probably one of the easiest dishes you can create on your own.

For example, a basic chicken noodle soup would be as follows:

Chicken, diced.
Noodles, pre-cooked.
Chicken broth.
Salt and pepper to taste.

Saute the diced chicken. Add chicken broth (water works, as does chicken bouillion, if you don’t have broth/stock.) Add noodles. Season with salt and pepper. Eat.

Stew, for example, is nothing more than soup with a thick liquid. The question is… What kinds of soups would you want to make?
