As I was browsing the Internet a few days ago, I came across a forum where the kitchen is post had a comment on how this nobody ever used their crock pot because of the dissociation with their food. They "never put all ingredients in crock pot, walk away for 6 hours, and hope it turn out just the way they wanted. "
Honestly, at first I was really upset. I was frustrated, perhaps even angry. I love cooking and I can not find my crock pot to be an object of alienation in my kitchen. My thoughts went after – that person should not have children, they should not work, they must have all the time in the world to spend hours to prepare dinner each evening. Personally, I'm so used to creating extremely tasty quick and easy meal, I consider myself almost spoiled, I never spend more than 20 minutes to prepare dinner.
Then I started to let go my frustrations. Maybe this person was not informed of what a slow cooker can really do, and wonderful benefits. When I was growing up, the only things I remember eating in a slow cooker were chili, pot roast and pork chops. I was amazed when my aunt at a family gathering place potatoes cooked in the pot, unaware at the time of endless possibilities.
Recently, I realized how much I do not prepare dinner. However, with my slow cooker, there is little or no preparation immediately before eating and that's what I love most! During the week, we as parents are trying to help children with homework to occupy toddlers, babies and feed, we do not have the luxury of preparing for a long dinner (and those who have dealt with hungry children cranky know what I mean). Even for adults without children, the last thing you want to do after a long day of work is to spend hours creating dinner. Crawl into the depths of your kitchen cabinet and dust off your slow cooker.
Now, do not assume you'll be eating pork chops and pot roast every day. How Italian Chicken Parmesan sound? How about Hungarian Goulash and Burgundy Stew with dumplings? Or my favorite crock pot, lasagna? (I hate all that preparation and then another hour of cooking time for traditional lasagna!) Even Wild mushrooms and rice or peanut butter Fudge Cake! The possibilities are endless, Chicken Parisienne, with Roast Beef with Crimini Mushroom Sauce, Chicken Cordon Bleu.
So ignore those who leave positions we blame leaders crockpot. In my opinion, we enjoy many benefits that can never understand because it is possible to have a healthy meal without tasting exquisite endless preparation before dinner. Give me 10-15 minutes each morning, and I'll give you a wonderful meal as soon as you walk through your door. It's almost like having your own personal chef!
